Numorous drugs are available for treatment of dermatophytosis, and yet, the clinical uses of these drugs are not satisfactory. To search the more effective drugs fordermatophytosis, this experiment was undertaken.
The fungistatic and fungicidal effect of p-dimetbylaminobenzaldehyde and piperazine citrate vas observed on the Sabouraud¢¥s glucose agar media for 3 weeks.
The species of the fungi studied in this experiment were K. aielloi, M. canis, M. cookei, M gypseum, M. nanum, T. mentagrophytes,T.rubrum, M. tonsurans and T.verrucosum.
The results of this study were as follow:
1. The growth of 9 species of fungi were completly inhibited on the Sabouraud¢¥s glucose agar media contained P-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde 1mg /ml.
2. The growth of fungi on the Sabouraud¢¥s glucose agar media contained peperazine citrate 1mg/ml was inhibited weakly.
